100 years ago 'Staatliche Bauhaus' was founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar. From Germany, this art academy grew into one of the most influential worldwide architectural and design movements of the 20th century. On the occasion of Bauhaus' jubilee, Germany Travel has developed a TINY [BAU]HAUS together with DUS Architects as a sample of the impressive Bauhaus heritage in Germany.

Bauhaus championed innovative techniques, and so this new recyclable house is 3D printed, with visitors invited to view the work room of Walter Gropius through VR glasses. TINY [BAU]HAUS can be seen from 11 April to 5 May on the terrace of Het Nieuwe Instituut (though Het Nieuwe Café and TINY [BAU]HAUS will be closed from 23 to 30 April).

During this Thursday Night Live! discover why Bauhaus was so revolutionary, and how pioneering architects inspired the designer of TINY [BAU]HAUS with a viewing by architect Hans Vermeulen.

Hans Vermeulen is co-founder of DUS Architects, and CEO of Aectual, a technology company that specialises in large-scale, bio-based 3D printing.
