Three-day imagination training with artists' collective Mona Lisa’s

Neuhaus Affenkäfig

Neuhaus Affenkäfig [monkey cage] is all about training and celebrating the imagination. During this three-day imagination training session, you can disconnect from your everyday reality and start a shared process of reinvention. Through a series of trials, meditative techniques, intensive exercises and masterclasses, you will be able to activate your unique creative force and, together with others, discover potential new ways of being (together).

This mind-expanding training is for everyone who wants to do things differently. In particular, it is for people looking to enrich their creative capabilities. People striving for complete freedom in thought and action.

The training was developed by Rotterdam-based artists’ collective Mona Lisa’s, who have built up a disruptive reputation with their happenings over the past four years. Transformation of the participants is a recurring element of these, as is the importance of nonsense.

In intimate classes, Mona Lisa’s Affenkäfig will bring you into contact with exceptional thinkers and artists such as Willem de Ridder, Prof. Dr. Cees Zwart, Charlien Adriaenssens and Louis van der Waal. Multidisciplinary surprise acts will also cut through the training programme.

This special occasion is underpinned by the philosophy of Bauhaus as a major source of inspiration for contemporary innovation. To stimulate innovation, the programme has been arranged in such a way that you can give free reign to your intuition and subconscious. The training offers scope to explore your creative potential and use the results to give new meaning to your work and life.

DAY 01 – 14 June Ganzkörpertraining 

The first day will bring you back to your own body. From a position of silence, you will explore ‘not knowing’. Your attention will turn inwards and focus on the body as a source and instrument of the imagination.

DAY 02 – 15 June Wir können es klären 

The second day is all about opening up to others. Together, you will tap into the energy of the collective. This day will let you ascend together – can we evoke a shared consciousness...

DAY 03 – 20 June Co-Kreative orgy

The apotheotic final day during which creative play can break free, with no boundaries. Together, you will work on a theatrical revelation that will make the building shake on its foundations. A gesamtkunstwerk as a testament to yourself and the rest of the world.

Come along to the registration day on Saturday, 25 May, between 14:00 and 17:00 at Het Nieuwe Instituut. You will get a taste of things to come, we will answer your questions and you can meet other participants.
